COLLEGE

I’m currently pursuing my Bachelors’s in Electronic Media at M.O.P Vaishnav College in Chennai, India.

Ever since the Internet came into my life, media has become a huge part of my day-to-day routine. Being a Gen-z kid, the urge to learn more about media grew.

The Internet has indeed transformed the way we consume and interact with media, opening up new possibilities and avenues for communication.

This degree helps me to gain knowledge and skills in various areas related to electronic media. They train me to excel in media production, digital storytelling, multimedia journalism, media ethics, media management, and more.

This program helps me by providing a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical training, allowing me to develop a critical understanding of media and the hands-on skills required in the industry.

HOBBIES

Besides academic knowledge, I’ve always had a deep interest in extracurricular activities.

My parents truly believed in holistic education, and so from a very young age, they encouraged me to join various classes like Dance, Music, Direction, Swimming, Badminton and many more.

I have been a trained Bharatnatyam dancer for nine years. Dancing allows for self-expression and creativity. I’m also a self-motivated Western dancer who loves to choreograph her moves.

I’ve been a trained Carnatic singer for seven years. I’ve always felt Music is a powerful medium of expression, and learning Carnatic music taught me a deep understanding of melody, rhythm, and cultural traditions.

I love competitions, and Participating in them can be a great way to challenge yourself and showcase your talents. It brings out the best in me and helps me grow as an individual, both in skill development and building resilience.

From a very young age, I’ve been proactive, volunteered to take up leadership activities and always felt confident to take responsibility.

I was my School’s Pupil Leader. I’ve also represented my school at various athletic events. I’m a divisional-level Shotput and Discus player and a district-level Throwball and Carrom player.

WORK

My mind was always filled with questions like how elders work at an office. What do they work on? Is it like a school/college? To answer these questions, I took the initiative to seek an internship.

Eventually, I interned at Business Blogging, a digital marketing consultancy. I took part in a project named “60seconds?” It is a TikTok alternative platform for sharing 1 minute, short-format videos.

I learnt that working as an intern exposes you to the professional environment and helps you develop essential skills like time management, communication, and consistency.
Most importantly, I learnt the importance and value of money.

Working at a young age turned out to be beneficial for me. It provided me with real-world exposure and networking opportunities and helped me to understand the dynamics of the professional world.

Now, I’m actively seeking more internship opportunities. I want to explore different internships to provide me with a diverse range of experiences and help me further in expanding my skill set.

I would love if you can help connect me to exciting internship opportunities. I’m available at kalpitha@kalpitha.com
